# Email

ZTrust sends emails to users for various purposes, including user email verification, password resets, and server event notifications.&#x20;

To enable email functionality, you have to configure your SMTP server settings within ZTrust (under the Email tab)

#### **From**

It refers to the sender's email address or addresses utilized as the From SMTP-Headers for outgoing emails.

#### **From Display Name**

This feature is optional and enables the use of a user-friendly alias for the From Email address.&#x20;

If not configured, the plain From Email address will be displayed in email clients.

#### **Reply To**

This feature is optional and pertains to the email address used for the Reply To SMTP-Header for the sent emails.&#x20;

If not set, the plain From email address will be used.

#### **Reply to Display Name**

This feature is optional and lets you configure a user-friendly email address alias.

If not set, the plain Reply To email address will be used.

#### **Envelope From**

This setting is optional and represents the [Bounce Address](https://ztrust.gitbook.io/ztrust-documentation/key-terminologies#bounce-address) used for the Return-Path SMTP-Header in outgoing emails.

#### **Host**

Host indicates the SMTP host name used for sending emails.

#### **Port**

It denotes the SMTP server Port.

#### **Encryption**

There are two encryption options available as outlined below:

* Enable SSL

This is a toggle button, when activated (turned ON), it enables [SSL](https://ztrust.gitbook.io/ztrust-documentation/key-terminologies#ssl) communication between ZTrust and its clients and applications.&#x20;

When deactivated (turned OFF), SSL is disabled.

You can toggle it ON or OFF according to your requirements.

* Enable StartTLS

This toggle button, when switched ON, activates [TLS](https://ztrust.gitbook.io/ztrust-documentation/key-terminologies#starttls) encryption for all data exchanges between ZTrust and its clients and applications.&#x20;

Conversely, when switched OFF, TLS encryption is disabled.&#x20;

You have the flexibility to toggle it ON or OFF  according to your specific needs.

You can choose the suitable options based on your preferences and needs.

#### **Authentication**

This toggle button is activated(turned ON) when your SMTP server necessitates authentication.

If authentication is not needed, it remains OFF.

When prompted, you can use the Username and Password.

#### **Save**

Once you've entered the details, if you wish to incorporate the changes, simply click on the Save button.

#### **Test Connection**

Clicking on Test Connection allows you to verify the configuration you have set up.

#### **Revert**

If you prefer not to apply any changes with the provided information, click on the Revert button to discard the changes.
