Introduction

ZTrust 4.1.4 provides new capabilities for better control, monitoring, and user management. The release features simplified license management, real-time metrics for realms and system resources, enhanced support workflows with in-app ticketing, and advanced features such as geo-fencing and configurable application-level announcements.

  1. Metrics Page *New Feature

    A new Metrics Page has been added to provide a comprehensive overview of your ZTrust environment and system performance. This page displays both environment setup details and a ZTrust overview report with key insights such as:

    • Number of clients per realm

    • Number of users per realm

    • Active sessions per realm

    • Realm-wise groups overview

    • System metrics including CPU usage, memory utilization, active threads, and system uptime

    All data is presented in an intuitive bar chart view, enabling administrators to easily monitor realm-level activity and system health at a glance.

  2. License Activation Page *New Feature Now you can activate your ZTrust License directly from the Admin Portal UI. A new activation page has been added to ZTrust Admin Portal that helps in activating and managing the ZTrust license.

  3. Version Page *New Feature A new Version Page has been added to display the current ZTrust version and provide an option to check for updates. This feature ensures users can easily stay up to date with the latest ZTrust releases and improvements.

  4. Admin Announcements / Broadcast News *New Feature ZTrust Admins can now share news or updates with users by posting announcements in the client section. These announcements appear on the application login screen with a scrolling display, ensuring users see important updates upon logging in.

    Additionally, announcements can be configured separately for each application, allowing targeted updates for specific user groups or applications.

  5. Magic Link to Admin Email *New Feature When a user requests a role, the admin receives a detailed email containing a magic link. By clicking the link, the admin is taken directly to the user’s profile within the relevant realm, eliminating the need to manually search for the user.

  6. AES-GCM Encryption *New Feature Introduced AES-GCM encryption to encrypt and store critical data in the database and payloads.

    1. Encryption of the critical data and configurations while storing in the database.(Data at Rest encryption)

    2. Encryption of the API payloads to secure the API communication between admin console and backend services.(Data in Transit encryption)

    3. Encryption of the MQ payload to secure the communication with ZTrust authenticator application.(Data in Transit encryption)

    4. Encryption of the QR code, during registration and login to allow only the ZTrust authenticator application to receive the user data.

    5. Encryption of the SMTP configuration to secure the SMTP username and password while saving in the database.(Data at Rest encryption)

  7. Calendar View for Time Fencing Configuration ZTrust now introduces a Calendar View (Month, Week, Day) to simplify the configuration and management of time fencing. Admins can easily define and control login time restrictions through an intuitive visual interface.

    1. Flexible View Options The new calendar view provides daily, weekly, and monthly perspectives, making it easier for admins to configure and adjust time windows for user access.

    2. Streamlined Management Admins can quickly schedule, update, and manage time fencing policies directly from the calendar. This enhancement improves efficiency while maintaining precise control over when users can log in.

  8. Self Service Portal (SSP) Self Service Portal (SSP) now includes a dedicated Applications view section displaying all applications that are available to the user along with relevant details. For each application, assigned and available roles (application or realm roles) are shown separately. Users can now request available roles, and once approved by an admin, the role is automatically assigned to the user.

  9. Geo-Fencing ZTrust now provides Geo-Fencing through an interactive map configuration. Administrators can define virtual boundaries (geofences) on the map and assign them to specific groups, enabling location-based access control and enhanced security.
