# 4.4 Creating a new Realm

In **ZTrust**, a **realm** functions like a **tenant**, allowing administrators to create **isolated groups** of applications and users. Each realm is **completely separated** from others, meaning that users in one realm **cannot access** the data of users in another.

By default, **ZTrust** comes with a single realm named **“master”**, which has **full control** over all other realms.

#### **Steps to Create a Realm**

1. **Open the ZTrust Admin Console.**
2. Click on **“Manage realms”** from the **left sidebar**.

3. Click on **Create Realm** Button.

4. Enter the desired name in the **Realm Name** field (maximum 20 characters). For example “Demo

5. Click on **Create** button
6. Realm is created and ready to use

Once the realm is created, it is ready for use. To test whether the realm is working as expected, try creating a user.

#### Realm Setup Checklist

Before going live, make sure your realm is fully configured with the following:

1. Reports&#x20;
2. User Attributes
3. RabbitMQ Configuration
4. GDPR  Compliance&#x20;
5. Last Login Time Tracking
6. Geo Fencing(options)
7. Time Fencing(options)
8. Authentication Flow
