# 4.13.3 OTP Based Registration

*"A One-Time Password (OTP) is a unique, temporary code that a user receives via SMS/email to authenticate a login or transaction. Unlike traditional static passwords, which remain the same until changed, an OTP is valid for a single session or transaction."*

To set up OTP Based Registration feature, do the following steps -

1. Click on **Authentication** in the sidebar.<br>

2. Click on the **Required Actions** tab.<br>

3. Turn on the toggle switch under both **Enabled** and **Set as Default Action** for **Register through OTP**.<br>

**OTP based registration** is now enabled.
