# 4.6. License

### 1. License System

The License System module is used to manage the application license and verify the current software version. It allows administrators to:

* View the active license details.
* Activate or update the license using a Promo Code.
* Verify license validity and expiration date.
* Check the currently installed product version.
* Verify whether a newer version of the product is available.

### 2. Accessing the License Module

1. Navigation to the Licence Module:\
   Step 1: Login to LiveStreamIQ.\
   Step 2: From the left navigation menu, expand Administration.\
   Step 3: Click License.\

   The user will see two tabs:
   1. Active License
   2. Versions

### 3. Active License

The Active License tab displays all information related to the currently activated license.

1. **Screen Overview**\
   The page contains the following fields:<br>

   <table data-search="false"><thead><tr><th>Field</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Promo Code</td><td>The activation code used to activate the license.</td></tr><tr><td>License</td><td>Displays the generated license key (partially masked for security).</td></tr><tr><td>Activation Status</td><td>Shows whether the license is Activated or Inactive.</td></tr><tr><td>Activation Date</td><td>Date when the license was activated.</td></tr><tr><td>Expiration Date</td><td>Date when the license will expire.</td></tr><tr><td>License Type</td><td>Type of license (Evaluation, Trial, Enterprise, etc.).</td></tr><tr><td>Customer Name</td><td>Name of the registered customer.</td></tr><tr><td>Registered Organization</td><td>Organization associated with the license.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### 4. Viewing License Information

Step 1:  Navigate to License tab&#x20;

&#x20;               **Administration → License**

Step 2: Open the Active License tab.

1. **The system displays:**
   1. Promo Code
   2. License Key
   3. Activation Status
   4. Activation Date
   5. Expiration Date
   6. License Type
   7. Customer Name
   8. Registered Organization<br>

### 5. Updating the License

1. When a new Promo Code is provided by the licensing team, the user can update the existing license.\
   Step 1: Click the EDIT button beside the Promo Code field.\
   Step 2: Enter the new Promo Code.\
   &#x20;            Example: AB12CD34EF56GH78\
   Step 3: Click **Activate** (or Update, if already an license is exist).\
   Step 4: The system validates the Promo Code.

   1. If the Promo Code is valid:
      1. License is activated.
      2. License information is refreshed.
         1. Activation Date is updated.
         2. Expiration Date is updated.

   &#x20;      *Customer and Organization information are updated automatically.*

   \
   Step 5: Verify that the Activation Status displays: `Activated` &#x20;

### 6. License Status

The system displays the current activation state.

1. **Activated**:
   1. License is valid.&#x20;
   2. All licensed features are available.
2. **Expired**:
   1. License validity has ended.
   2. Renewal or a new Promo Code is required.
3. **Invalid**:
   1. Promo Code is incorrect or corrupted.
   2. Activation will fail until a valid Promo Code is entered.

#### &#x20;I. License Expiration:

&#x20;Always monitor the Expiration Date.

&#x20;When the expiration date approaches:

1. Contact the licensing administrator or vendor.
2. Obtain a new Promo Code.
3. Update the Promo Code using the EDIT option.
4. Verify that the new expiration date is displayed.

#### II. Versions:

The Versions tab provides information about the installed application version.

It displays:

| Field        | Description                                     |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Product Name | Name of the installed application.              |
| Version Name | Current installed version.                      |
| Release Date | Official release date of the installed version. |

### 7. Viewing Version Information

Step 1: Navigate&#x20;

&#x20;           **Administration → License**

Step 2: Select the Versions tab.

The page displays:

1. Product Name
2. Version Name
3. Release Date

#### 8. Checking for Updates

The application allows administrators to check whether a newer version is available.

Step 1: Open the Versions tab.

Step 2: Click the Check for Updates Version button.

Step 3: The system contacts the update server and compares the installed version with the latest  available version.

Step 4: The system returns one of the following results.

1. Case 1 – Latest Version Installed\
   Example: *You are using the latest version.*\
   &#x20;                *No further action is required.*
2. Case 2 – New Version Available\
   Example: *A newer version is available.*\
   *Current Version : 4.1.1*\
   *Latest Version : 4.2.0*

*The administrator can then follow the organization's software upgrade process.*
